"Spruce Trees and Berry Bushes"

This is the season when many people love to take vacations. If you are like me, I love to get away to some place remote where I can find peace and solitude. This work pictures a sunrise through the mist and the fog of blue spruce trees and berry bushes in the rugged country terrain of Kobuk National Park located in Alaska. The sun glints light off of the dew that is still upon the foliage and causes many beautiful prismatic color to be seen through the atmosphere. I hope this will be as refreshing to you and that you enjoy this painting as much as I enjoyed painting it. I hope my paintings will be like windows on your walls of home you would like to see at times when you can't always physically travel there. ~ Connie

"A Gentle Grandeur"

The scene is from an elevated stance overlooking God's beautiful creation at sunset. An early evening fog meanders it's way through the hills. If the viewer can imagine themselves into this scene, they would sense the calmness of nature and enjoy the solitude and breathe in the fresh country air. They might smell the sweet scent of wildflowers growing effortlessly at their feet and watch the sun's glow move slowly across the horizon. ~ Enjoy!

"The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no language, where their voice is not heard...In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun. Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race. His going forth is from the end of the heaven and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof." ~ Psalm 19:1-6.

"The Pathway of Life"

I painted this painting because this scene reminded me somewhat of our journey through this life. You can't see around the next bend. There are fences up sometimes. We're enclosed by circumstances bigger than our selves. There are bumps, rocks, and sometimes the way seems uphill all the way. This reminds me that God is ultimately in control and we are to so totally trust Him. Our part is to keep walking on, keep trusting Him, keep following the path, and to enjoy the journey. I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed painting it! ~ Connie

"Autumn's Hidden Sanctuary"

I love the vibrant and cheerful colors of autumn and I love the country and the woods. Sometimes when I walk out into the woods maybe to get an image to paint, I am amazed again at the hand of God in His creation! At the colorful and mighty oaks and sugar maples. When there's a breeze blowing through the tops of the trees, it seems I'm offered a thousand paintings all at once. I am so thankful to be an artist and for His kindness and mercies toward me.

"Behold, the LORD thy God hath set the land before thee; go up and possess it, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath said unto thee; fear not, neither be discouraged." ~ Deuteronomy 1:21.

A Breath of Fresh Country Air

I love the country so much! I guess that's why I paint it often. I've had people who have bought my paintings, that after a busy day in the city, with all the traffic, smells, smog, and noise, they love when they come home to imagine themselves into the painting they bought. A scene of nature, where there is peace and.....fresh country air. ~ Enjoy!

"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee, because he trusteth in thee." ~ Isaiah 26:3.

Autumn's Hidden Sanctuary II

This work pictures the deep rich masses of foliage in it's full fruition, typical of middle summer at the water's edge adorned with the beautiful lighting of a sunset. Please note the indepth detail in the vines curling up around the main tree, the haze from the sun that fades some elements in the scene, the grasses and wildflowers on the banks and the brushwork and colors in the sky and the clouds. Enjoy!
